January Favourites | Countrified Charm

It’s that time again – monthly favourites! I skipped out on December’s favourites since the holidays were busy…but that’s ok! I’ve incorporated a few of my faves from then into this month anyway. As per usual, I’ll split things between beauty, fashion and a third category for the other “lifestyle” thing. Let’s go!

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask

I’ve always had issues with acne and have always struggled to find skincare products that actually work for me. I like to use a face mask weekly to keep my skin fresh and clean, and wanted to add a charcoal one to the mix. But finding something that 1) I don’t get a breakout from, 2) I don’t have a bad reaction too, and 3) actually works, was hard. I searched up on Sephora some of the best options and Origins came highly recommended. I already use Origins 10 Minute Mask, so I knew the brand was good. I have been using this for about a month and I love it. I have no bad reactions (as long as I don’t leave it on too long), and it does keep my skin feeling clear and fresh.

Cost: $20 for 50mL, $32 for 100mL

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve somehow managed to go a few years without buying a Naked palette. I just couldn’t justify paying $60 for eyeshadow. Just before Christmas the Smoky palette went on sale for $33 so I couldn’t resist. I now know what I’ve been missing! These shadows are well worth the money. The colours are gorgeous and super pigmented, and they last all day. I especially love that there are both soft and more dramatic colours, so I can wear them for work or going out – perfect! I definitely can see myself buying some more of this line down the road.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Mad Max Brown

Just before the New Year, I got a notification that I was just $50 away from becoming a VIB. Obviously, I couldn’t let those points go to waste, so I bought a few things to get the upgrade. What better opportunity to get the liner I’ve been dying to try? I’m a sucker for a good, felt tip or paint brush-like tip eyeliner. This is amazing. It goes on so slick and makes it so easy to change up my look depending if I want to go with simple or dramatic. Bonus for it being available in brown, because a good brown liner is SO hard to find.

Jogger Pants

I recently started a new job, so naturally, I went shopping for new clothes. (I really needed some new dress clothes for my business-casual office job, okay!). I have been loving the look of joggers as of lately – they’re cute, practical and hella comfy. I found these beauties are Dynamite and I am in love. They are super comfortable, but also easy to dress up for the office. It honestly is like wearing fancy sweatpants to work – can’t complain!

Cost: Paid $30, regular $49.95

Statement Necklace

You can never have too many statement necklaces, right? Again, when stocking up on new work clothes I find this gorgeous piece hanging all along on the rack calling to me. It looks like it would be really heavy, but not the case! It’s perfect for amping up a simple outfit and – bonus – it was on sale!

Get it at: Reitmans

Cost: Paid $8, regular $22.90

Turtleneck

Turtlenecks are seriously one of the only 90’s comeback trends I’ll get behind. I was actually so bummed when these went of style back in the day. They’re so practical – simple, anyone can wear them, and they are so cozy. I literally went shopping one day just in search of this style. This was a good find, sort of tucked away on a sales rack. I love that is plain and simple, but has the gold buttons on the sleeve for some added flair.

Get it at: H&M

Cost: Paid $10, regular ?

BeKOOL Soft Gel Sheets

If you’re an avid reader of my blog, or if you know me at all, you’ll know I get frequent migraines. I’ve been in desperate search for awhile for anything that will give relief. I actually found out about these from a Buzzfeed post listing the best migraine remedies. Let me tell you, these are a god send. I haven’t had anything yet that works this well for migraine relief. They are just a little pad with cooling gel on one side – you just stick the cool side on your head and bam, instant relief. I’ve used them a few times already and everytime they have worked. Just ordered a bunch more!

Cost: $5.99

Kate Spade iPhone 6 Case

It’s no secret that I love Kate Spade. I’ve had a phone case from there on my wishlist for a few years now and I finally got one (thanks, boyfriend!) for my birthday. I’ll admit, it does get scratched really easily, but it keeps my phone protected. Plus, it’s really cute!

Get it at: Kate Spade, Best Buy

Cost: $44.99

Nashville

I can’t believe it took me this long to start watching Nashville. I am beyond obsessed with it! I watched the first four seasons in about a month and was able to get caught up just as the new season was starting. It’s the perfect combination – it had drama, good music, great characters and just enough comedic relief. The acting is superb and the music is even better. If you haven’t watched it yet, definitely give it a shot!

Watch it on: Seasons 1-4 available on Netflix, Season 5 airing now on CMT

Well, there you go! Do you use any of these products (or watch them!)? Let me know in the comments! As always, like this post and share it with your friends. Follow by blog if you like what you see, and follow me on my social channels. See you next time!
